Privacy Policy

Last updated 2026-07-25

The short version: LearnMagic has no accounts and builds no profile of you. Your favorites, progress, and checklists live in your own browser and are never sent to us. The only information we ever receive is what you type into the contact form, plus anonymous, aggregate page statistics.

Who this policy covers

This policy explains how LearnMagic(“we”, “us”) handles information when you visit our website. It applies to every page on this site. If you have a question about anything below, email us at hello@learnmagic.example.com.

Information stored in your browser

To make the site more convenient, your browser stores a small amount of data locally on your own device, under the learnmagic: prefix in localStorage. This data never leaves your browser and is never transmitted to us or to anyone else. It consists of:

  • tricks you have marked as favorites;
  • tricks you have marked as completed;
  • which practice-checklist items you have ticked, per trick;
  • the last few tricks you viewed, so we can show a “recently viewed” list;
  • your last few search terms, to speed up repeat searches;
  • your progress through any learning path you start.

None of this identifies you. It is stored only on the device and browser you used, so it will not follow you to another device. If your browser blocks local storage, every one of these features degrades quietly and the rest of the site works normally.

We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party trackers, and we do not use localStorage for any purpose other than the features listed above.

Information you send us

If you use our contact form, we receive the name, email address, subject, reason, and message you type in. We use that information for one purpose only: to read your message and reply to it.

Messages are delivered to our email inbox through a transactional email provider and are kept only as long as needed to handle your enquiry. We do not add you to a mailing list, we do not sell or share your message, and we do not use it for advertising. If you would like your message deleted, ask us and we will remove it.

Analytics and server logs

We use Vercel Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights to understand which pages are useful and which pages are slow. These are privacy-friendly, cookie-free tools: they record aggregate events such as page views and loading performance, and they do not set cookies, do not fingerprint your device, and do not track you across other websites. We cannot use them to identify an individual visitor.

Our host, Vercel, also keeps standard server logs (including IP addresses) for a short period as part of operating and securing the service. We use those logs only for security and troubleshooting.

Third parties we rely on

  • Vercel — website hosting, aggregate analytics, and server logs.
  • Our transactional email provider — delivers contact-form messages to our inbox.

Fonts are served from our own domain rather than a third-party font service, so simply reading the site does not send a request to any outside company beyond our host.

Children

Many of our lessons are written for younger magicians, and the site is designed so children can use it safely: there are no accounts, no logins, no messaging, no public profiles, and no way for a child to publish anything. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The contact form asks for a name and email address, so we ask that anyone under 13 have a parent or guardian send the message instead. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, email us and we will delete it.

Your choices and rights

Because we hold no account data, there is usually nothing for us to look up about you. You can still, at any time:

  • erase everything this site has stored in your browser, using the button below;
  • ask us for a copy of any contact-form message you sent, or ask us to delete it, by emailing hello@learnmagic.example.com;
  • browse the entire site with local storage disabled, or in private-browsing mode, without losing access to a single lesson.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or the CCPA — including the right to access, correct, or erase personal information, and to complain to your local data protection authority. We honour those requests for the only personal information we ever hold: contact-form messages. We do not sell personal information.

Changes to this policy

If we change how the site handles data, we will update this page and the “last updated” date at the top. Material changes will be summarised here so returning visitors can see what moved.
